Cells = Life
1. 1.What makes something living?
- the fact that they have one or multiple cells makes it living
- The cell is the smallest unit of life
Cell
Cells = Life
unicellular organism

Tissues:
· Cardiac
· Skin (epithelial)
· Muscle
· Nervous tissue
¯
Organs:
· Heart
· Stomach
· Brain
¯
Organ System:
· Digestive
· Circulatory
· Nervous
¯
Organism:
- Multicellular
2. How is a single cell like a multicellular organism?
They have some form of mini-organs (organelles) to do specific job
3. Identify the ORGANELLES of plant and animal cells. What are their jobs?
The organelles of an animal cell are:
Nucleus
Ribosome
Cytoplasm
Cell membrane
Lysosome
Mitochondrion
Golgi body
Endoplasmic reticulum
The organelles of a plant cell are:
Cytoplasm
Vacuole
Cell wall
Cell membrame
Ribosomes
Chloroplast
Cytoplasm
Endoplasmic reticulum
Golgi body
Nucleus
As you can see there are some organelles that are the same for both plant and animal cells, but there are some that they both do NOT have. That’s because plants (and their cells) are structured differently than animals (and their cells)
